3M™ VHB™ Tape 4949 is a thick black two-layer acrylic foam tape with a PET backing. General purpose acrylic adhesives on both sides bond to a variety of high surface energy substrates including metals, glass and more easily bond paints and plastics. 3M™ VHB™ Tape 4949 is part of the 4950 product line. Each product in this product line features a general-purpose acrylic adhesive and rigid foam but varies in thickness, color and backing type.
• Virtually invisible binding keeps the surface smooth
• Can replace mechanical fasteners (rivets, welds, screws) or liquid adhesives
• Eliminates drilling, grinding, finishing, screwing, welding and associated cleaning
• Creates a permanent seal against water, humidity and more
• Contact pressure-sensitive adhesive bonds to provide immediate handling strength
• Allows the use of thinner, lighter weight and different materials
Outstanding technical features:
Color: black
Thickness: 1.1mm
Width: 1219mm
Length: 66m
Material: Polyester Film
Adhesive component: Multi-purpose acrylic
Resistance temperature: Minutes to hours °F (°C): 300 °F (149 °C)
Temperature Resistance: Days to Weeks °F (°C): 200°F (93°C)
Storage/refrigeration temperature: 40°F ~ 100°F (4°C ~ 38°C)
